Bonner Commends Funding for School Safety and Student Mental Health Resources

HARRISBURG – Today, Rep. Tim Bonner (R-Mercer/Butler) commended the more than $2 million in funding awarded to schools across the 17th Legislative District.
The School Safety and Security Committee (SSSC) under the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) approved $47 million statewide in grants to improve safety, security, and mental health initiatives for students across the Commonwealth.
“I am beyond pleased to see this significant investment into our student’s education, safety and good health,” Bonner said. “Investing in the well-being of our students and educators will continue to make Pennsylvania a better place for all.”
The below list details the public and non-public schools across the district that will receive funds:
Mercer County
- Grove City – $157,628.
- Greenville Area – $150,700
- Lakeview – $590,998
- Mercer Area – $142,978.
- Mercer County Career Center – $70,000.
- Reynolds – $447,131.
- Stoneboro Wesleyan Methodist School - $48,047.
Butler County
- Moniteau – $150,009.
- Karns City – $151,558.
- Slippery Rock – $159,238.
Funds will advance the School Safety and Security Committee’s goal of ensuring all Pennsylvania students can learn in safe, healthy school environments by helping school entities
address basic safety needs and mental health services identified in the committee’s recently adopted Revised Baseline Criteria Standards.
