Bonner: Borough of Jackson Center Granted More Than $9.5 Million for Wastewater Treatment Plant

GROVE CITY – Rep. Tim Bonner (R-Mercer/Butler) is pleased to announce the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) has awarded a more than $9.5 million grant to the Borough of Jackson Center.
This funding will go to the construction of a new 98,000 gallons-per-day wastewater treatment plant along Bradley Road (State Route 2018) in Jackson Township. Construction will include a new concrete headworks wet well with comminutor and perforated screen, new concrete influent pumping well with two submersible pumps, influent valves, a metering vault and two sequencing batch reactor treatment tanks.
“This project will bring treat sewage with the most modern technology while further protecting our waterways, surrounding environments, and public health,” Bonner said. “I was pleased to support this project and I am grateful to see PENNVEST award the Borough of Jackson Center this grant and invest in the protection of our Mercer County communities.”
Founded in 1988, PENNVEST provides grants and low-interest loans for design, engineering and construction of publicly and privately owned drinking water distribution and treatment facilities, as well as storm water and wastewater projects.
