Bonner: 18 Fire, Emergency Services Departments Awarded Funding

February 11, 2025

GROVE CITY– Rep. Tim Bonner (R-Mercer/Butler) announced grant funding was awarded to multiple essential first responder companies in the 17th District.

Eighteen fire companies and ambulance squads in the 17th District, covering parts of Mercer and Butler counties, are recipients of grants administered by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner and the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency. The money can be used for construction, renovation, equipment purchases or repairs, and existing debt reduction.

“Our first responders make daily sacrifices to protect and serve our communities,” said Bonner. “With most of our companies being volunteer run, these essential grants are just one way our Commonwealth can support our first responders who keep our citizens safe.”
